Women’s Industrial Home, Dhabeji

Established in 2012, Amreli Foundation inaugurated the Dhabeji Women’s Industrial Home in Dhabeji Town to provide vocational training to women, advocating female empowerment through upskilling. Starting with a single trainer ten years ago, the facility now has three female employees who train approximately 200 female students each year in sewing and stitching skills. Over time, the Industrial Home has become a hub for women, serving as a safe space where they can gather, learn, and socialise.

THE HUNAR FOUNDATION

Mr. Abbas Akberali, Chairman Amreli Steels Ltd. co-found The Hunar Foundation (THF) in 2008. Since its inception, THF has experienced significant growth mainly for its focus on contemporary learning techniques and providing in-demand skills of computational intelligence. The foundation now operates 8 institutes throughout the province with 2 campuses entirely dedicated to women, offering them women focused courses and envisions to expand its facility with 3 more institutes promoting communal education and occupational training.

The Citizens Foundation Akberali Campus, Achaar Salaar (Dhabeji)

Amreli Foundation has a long-standing relationship with The Citizens Foundation. In 2010, the Akberali family generously funded the construction of TCF campus in Achaar Salaar, Dhabeji. Built on the foundation of Amreli Steels’ rebars, the school provides free-of-cost primary education. Since its establishment Amreli Steels has covered the operational cost of the campus, and as a result of their significant contribution; the campus is named ‘Akberali Campus’. To this day, the Akberali campus supports almost 200 student’s education annually, with 40% of students being young girls and over 2000 children have received primary education from our campus.

Sirat-ul-Jannah Orphanage, Karachi

Sirat-ul-Jannah is an orphanage network accommodating orphans in Karachi, Islamabad, Muree, and Khanewal. They strive to offer a comfortable and supportive home for underprivileged orphan children who are not only provided with lodging and basic necessities, but also educational and medical services. Amreli Foundation donates monthly food supplies to 135 children residing in the Karachi orphanage.

Namal University, Mianwali

Namal University was founded with the purpose of combining education and employability to empower capable young people to contribute to Pakistan’s economy and society. Amreli Foundation joined hands with Namal University in its endeavour and sponsored a 4-year degree program for 10 students. The goal of the collaboration is to provide students with both academic knowledge and practical skills through a cooperative network of public and private partnerships.

KHANA GHAR, KARACHI

Khana Ghar’s mission is to offer affordable food to those in need. Parveen Saeed, known as the “3 Rupee Lady” in international media because she charges only PKR 3 per person for meals, has been operating Khana Ghar for over 15 years. The establishment provides two daily meals to more than 4,000 people in Karachi. Amreli Foundation has been funding Parveen Saeed’s admirable endeavour to ensure that over 500,000 meals are served each year.

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Karachi

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH-RC) is a charitable organisation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer. It aims to mitigate the suffering of cancer patients through modern methods of therapy, regardless of their ability to pay. It serves as a model facility for providing high-quality care and support to 1,000+ patients with cancer annually, utilising state-of-the-art techniques and approaches to both cure and manage the symptoms of the disease. In view with its strategy area of ‘equitable healthcare’, Amreli Foundation donated PKR 10 million worth of Steel Rebars for the construction of the hospital in DHA City, Karachi.
